A place for creators, schools, art & cultural organizations, libraries, and people that want to buy local quality art, jewelry & more.

Hello everyone. I am just now recouping from a busy several weeks of art shows. The art in the park show last Saturday was wet! However, even though there were few people who ventured out, I did very well. I am seeing sales in my high end jewelry this year and I am very pleased about that.

I started a new adventure in ceramics at OCC. I am in my second class this summer and have fallen in love with playing in the mud. This week is the last week to finish pieces and I was there all day yesterday working feverishly. Let me say that I thought this would be very easy to pick up. After all, I can work silver, who in the heck can't make stuff out of mud? Wrong. My first pieces remind me of the artwork the kids bring home from kindergarten! Ya know, it's not so much about the destination as it is the journey and every day is a trip for me. Now I play in clay in the morning and pound silver in the afternoon. Life doesn't get much better.  I would like more hours in the day. It wasn't until after Art in the park that I have resumed sleeping. There were many days I worked through the night. I get so excited about my jewelry designs I don't like to take the time to sleep.

Well, back up to my class. This afternoon I have plans to work on yet another jewelry technique I am going to teach myself. Stay tuned for the results, masterpiece or disaster?
